Apple announces new MacBook Pros for 2018
Apple today unveiled two new models of for 2018, along with a range of configuration options. The new MacBook Pros, which come in 13in and 15in screen sizes and replace the existing Touch Bar models, get eighth-gen 'Coffee Lake' Intel processors and have been described by Apple as the most advanced Mac notebook ever. The new 13in Pros have quad-core processors and Apple says they offer twice the speed of the previous generation; they also now get the revolutionary previously seen in the iMac Pro. Prices start at 1,749/$1,799 in the US, which is the same as the cheapest Touch Bar configuration in the 2017 generation. The new 15in model gets six-core processors (with the a new option) and up to 70 percent speed gains on the 2017 generation, according to the maker. As with the 13in you get the T2 chip; there's also a new 32GB RAM option and storage goes all the way up to 4TB. Prices start at 2,349/$2,399. Both models come with and Touch ID, and the new addition of True Tone displays. True Tone was first seen in the it adjusts screen output to compensate for changing environmental lighting conditions.
