Beta 5 of iOS 11.4.1 and macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 Released for Testing

Apple has released the fifth beta versions of macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 along with iOS 11.4.1. These beta builds are different from the ongoing beta testing of macOS Mojave 10.14 and iOS 12, which are due for final release this fall. Neither iOS 11.4.1 beta or macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 beta are expected to include any new features, and its more likely the versions will focus on security enhancements and bug fixes. MacOS High Sierra 10.14.6 beta 5 can be downloaded now from the Mac App Store on any Mac currently enrolled in the High Sierra beta testing program. iOS 11.4.1 can be downloaded now from the Settings app of iOS to any iPhone or iPad enrolled in the iOS beta testing program. The new beta builds for these particular Mac, iPhone, and iPad operating systems arrive just a week after another beta release. Keeping track of beta software updates can be a good indicator of when a particular system software update may become available. Apple usually goes through a variety of beta releases before issuing a final version to the general public, so it would be reasonably expected to find the final release of iOS 11.4.1 and macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 sometime in the coming weeks or months. Separately, the next major versions of macOS and iOS are also under active development, and anyone can or if they feel like participating in a beta testing program for either operating system. Beta software is less stable than final builds, and thus it is generally only recommended for advanced users to experiment with.
